The Future of Springfield for Business

The Township of Springfield is continually looking to expand its business environment. New businesses attract consumers and allow the town to prosper and grow. Currently, the planning and zoning boards of Springfield have two main ongoing projects. The GOMES project involves the demolition and reconstruction of a building located on the corner of Caldwell Place and Center Street. This building will create renovated units for living and retail. The SPDSAIL project involves the demolition and reconstruction of a building on the corner of Morris Avenue and Church Mall. This building too will create more rental space for businesses and residents. These residential units will be relatively affordable, attracting new couples and those looking to settle down in a smaller space. As a result, new consumers will be brought into the area which will help Springfield businesses thrive. The addition of rental spaces for retail businesses is key to Springfield’s economic growth. Both small and large businesses will be welcome to rent out these spaces, to add a local flare to the area while still providing residents with access to familiar businesses.
